Job Description

The Network Administrator will perform multiple functions to support desktops, IT Projects, Production web site, and back office Microsoft Server systems. Candidate must be able to provide hands-on server and network installation and maintenance (including server equipment, networking equipment, Internet access routers, firewalls and tape backup systems). Regular assessment of server, network and workstation, and network design is required to provide feedback to the IT department. 
Candidate will respond to network emergencies via mobile telephone at times; participate in on call production support rotation, which includes weekends and after-hours.

Skills

Technical Skill Set 
• Setup and maintain Windows 2003 and 2008 Active Directory environment with in depth knowledge of multi site environment with multiple domain controllers. 
• Setup and maintain IIS, file shares, DFS, SMTP, GPO, RADIUS, NPS, IAS 
• Setup and maintain firewall with in depth understanding of TCP/IP, NAT, PAT DNS, DHCP (Sonicwall experience is a plus) 
• In depth knowledge of Layer 3 switching and routing (Dell and Cisco switch experience is a plus) 
o Understanding of routing protocols (Static routes, RIP, OSPF, EIGRP, BGP, OSPF) 
o In depth understanding of switching technologies (LAG, STP, RSTP, CDP, ARP, VLAN, Port mirroring/spanning, stacking)

The Position

Linux Systems Administrator – This position closely aligns with the SAGE Level III job description. Each day will bring new challenges you will face as part of a fledgling team of sysadmins, ever-present of the end goal of delivering high-quality content at optimal transfer rates. The successful candidate will be one who balances their willingness to learn with a strong technical background and ability to take charge and see projects through completion.

      • Configuring Linux systems (familiar with BIOS settings, RAID levels, partitioning, etc)

Job Summary

The Network and Systems Engineer provides technical administration and oversight for infrastructure related to internal operations for Hobsons. Essential Functions/Responsibilities

• Proactively manage a multi-country network infrastructure, ensuring uptime and reliability

Role Summary

The TDA will be the technical owner of a customer solution from contract signature to end of project delivery. The TDA will have several projects where they will be responsible for ensuring that delivers the technical solution that has been sold to the customer.

TDA will have a number of projects assigned to them where they will provide this support. Some elements of the role will be client facing at times

Duties and Responsibilities

The role of a Technical Design Authority (TDA) consists of the following challenges and responsibilities

- Ensure that the technical solution that has been sold to the prospective client is what is delivered by the various teams within .

- TDA will be involved with the proposed technical solutions prior to contract signature giving some time for any amendments to be incorporated within the solution.

- TDA will own the detail that is provided to the various functions within to order services from approved suppliers.

- TDA will own the level of POCL that is required for each new client.

- TDA will own the results of the testing along with other teams to ensure that this has met the design requirements of the solution sold to the client.

- TDA will own the configuration level detail of the base configuration templates that are to be used for the customer networks in line with standards and that are provided by the SA.

- TDA will ensure that baseline templates are documented and enforced on the client networks.

- TDA will issue design alerts back to the sales functions to ensure that design products/design principle errors are not repeated.

- TDA will be responsible for migration planning with the customer and migration and design documentation of the solution.

- The TDA will support implementation of key sites on the projects and be an escalation point for the network roll out.

Key Performance Indicators

Good communication skills, written and verbal to both internal and external customers

Leadership skills as will be working as part of virtual teams

Good market and product knowledge of what service providers and carriers offer globally and how they operate.

Design background for both small and large scale networks (1000 sites plus)

Good ownership to see things through to completion

Manage multiple project workloads.

Good technical understanding of routing protocols BGP, OSPF and EIGRP

Good Cisco knowledge

Good Security knowledge and understanding and IPT experience is beneficial.

Baccalaureate Degree (Undergraduate

Essential: Degree) in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Systems, Science, Philosophy or Liberal Arts

Essential: Cisco CCIE Certification

5-7 years of experience

Experience designing global networks for a telecommunications provider or within global enterprise

organization.

Experience with Cisco/Redback/Juniper/Extreme devices

Experience with VNO (Virtual Network Operator) Model
