Job Description:
The primary focus of this position is to support customers adopting and integrating WildPackets products. The professional services engineer is a key player in developing and delivering training, performing consulting and sales engineer activities. This position is the focal point for providing excellent customer service and pre-sales to the post-sales services. This role is a key player consulting training and in the sales cycle, offering excellent technical resource from the pre-sales to the post-sales stage and is responsible for all technical, solution, and competitive aspects of the sale. The SE will work, in conjunction with Sales, Marketing, Support and Product Managers, to be the technical bridge between our Sales Representatives and our customers. The SE will take ownership of the prime technical relationship with our pre and post customers to drive customer satisfaction by proactively managing and delivering technical information onsite, online, and via telephone. They will also take responsibility for customer satisfaction in the post-sales stage, assuring that all solutions are working as expected.
Responsibilities:
Delivering instructor-led technical product and solution training in a classroom/lab environment using a combination of: Lectures, Workshops, Demonstrations, & Hands-on sessions.
Support the planning, researching, writing, and production of technical training materials for products and technology, including presentations and lab exercises.
50-75% travel required conducting training, consulting and sales engineering duties; individual may be required to travel to multiple cities within any given week.
All technical, solution, and competitive aspects of the sale
Must be successful selling to Fortune 500 executives, and convincing C-level and director level executives of the technical merits of the WildPackets solution.
The SE will work, in conjunction with Sales, Marketing, Support and Product Managers, to be the technical bridge between our customers.
The SE will take ownership of the technical relationship with our customers to drive customer satisfaction by proactively managing and delivering technical information to our customers both onsite, online, and via telephone.
Teach classes, lead labs, and hold seminars of 5 to 100 people in network engineering technologies, management, and troubleshooting.
Develop and update training, consulting materials.
Provide expert network engineering services, both onsite and offsite to aid customers with network design, measurement, and/or troubleshooting.
Develop white papers, other reference material be recognized expert in network engineering field.
Requirements:
Excellent interpersonal, communication, persuasion, presentation and writing skills.
Outstanding problem solving skills, including the ability to meet a business requirement with a technical solution.
Knowledge of TCP/IP, LANs and Network infrastructure.
Superior solution scoping abilities, using our existing solution and influencing new product development.
Experience with Microsoft Windows NT/2000/XP and/or UNIX (Solaris, Linux, AIX) Operating Systems.
Must be willing to work in a fast paced environment in multiple roles.
Previous consulting experience implementing enterprise class software solutions.
Experience scoping, managing and executing customer pilots and POC’s.
3 + years of enterprise class software selling experience to executives at Fortune 500 companies.
Experience mapping RFI/RFP requirements to software solutions.
802.11 a/b/g expertise and VoIP experience
Microsoft Certified Systems Engineer/ Administrator/ Architect (MCSE, MCSA, MCA)
