IS Support – Export Support:
Scope of Position:
This position is dedicated to the research, analysis and improvement of the systems and processes within the scope of the IS Support department at Expeditors. The systems and processes within this scope include electronic data exchange systems, operational logistics systems, monitoring and reporting platforms.
We are looking for technically adept individuals with the proven ability to learn rapidly and work aggressively to provide time-sensitive solutions in this fast paced industry.
Major Duties and Responsibilities:
This role will be dedicated to daily tasks including:
Analyzing and documenting current process and system flows
Identifying process and system points of failure
Developing solutions to recurring process and system failures
Designing and building automation and productivity tools
Designing and building reporting and monitoring solutions
Resolving data communications process and system issues
Desired Skills and Abilities:
Experience working with Java and/or Java Certified
Experience working with SQL and relational databases
Experience scripting with one or more of the following: VBScript, Shell scripting (ksh/bash), JavaScript, Perl,
Ability to research and resolve complex process and system issues
Exceptional customer service skills
Strong research and analysis skills
Strong written and verbal communication skills
Ability to learn and adapt quickly in a dynamic environment
Ability to prioritize and handle multiple tasks while meeting deadlines
Experience:
Beneficial experience includes previous work with logistics, business intelligence (BI), monitoring and/or reporting tools. Additionally experience researching, analyzing and implementing improvements within complex systems and processes will be valuable.
