Job Summary

The Systems Analyst analyzes user requirements, procedures, and diagnoses problems to enhance,

improve and/or automate new or existing systems. This position also reviews computer system

capabilities, workflows, and scheduling capabilities, and analyzes and recommends commercially

available software that would improve the efficiency of the system to meet business goals.

Minimum Qualifications

1. Associate Degree in Information Technology OR High School Diploma/GED and at least

one (1) year of job-related work experience.

2. Microsoft Certified Professional (MCP) or Microsoft Certified Technology Specialist

(MCTS).

3. Experience supporting Windows workstations and\or servers.

4. Strong interpersonal skills.

5. Excellent analytical skills.

6. Strong technical skills using a computer.

7. Excellent time management skills – prioritize and manage work time.

Preferred Qualifications

1. Associate Degree in Information Technology.

2. Microsoft Certified Server Administrator (MCSA) or Microsoft Certified Systems Engineer.

3. One year of experience offering technical support on Windows operating system.

4. Experience supporting thin clients (Citrix or Terminal Server).

Primary Responsibilities

1. Provide staff and users with assistance solving computer related problems, such as

malfunctions and program problems.

2. Test, implement, maintain, and troubleshoot computer programs and systems, including

coordinating the installation of computer programs and system components.

3. Administer and maintain computer networks and related computing environments including

computer hardware, systems software, applications software, and all configurations.

4. Coordinate and link the computer systems within an organization to increase compatibility

and information sharing.

5. Review systems principles and make recommendations to management for implementation.

6. Expand, modify or enhance computer systems to improve efficiency and work flow.

7. Determine computer software or hardware needed to set up or enhance system.

8. Diagnose hardware and software problems, make decisions regarding best remedy (repair or

replace) and execute.

Collateral Responsibilities

1. Enter commands and observe system functioning to verify correct operations and detect

errors.

2. Set up equipment for employee use, performing or ensuring proper installation of cables,

operating systems, or appropriate software.

3. Install and perform minor repairs to hardware, software, or peripheral equipment, following

design or installation specifications.

4. Maintain records of daily data communication transactions, problems and remedial actions

taken, or installation activities.

5. Read technical manuals, confer with users, or conduct computer diagnostics to investigate

and resolve problems or to provide technical assistance and support.

6. Refer major hardware or software problems or defective products to vendors or

programmers for service.

7. Develop training materials and procedures, and train users in the proper use of hardware or

software.

8. Confer with users, team members and management to establish requirements for new

systems or modifications.

1. Ability to work under pressure and maintain emotional control in a fast-paced work

environment.

2. Ability to maintain positive attitude when dealing with customers and/or end users.

3. Ability to listen to and understand what other people are saying and ask questions to clarify

when necessary.
