Overview:
Trading Systems Administrators help ensure accessibility and continuous operation of mission critical pre-production systems, various test environments and alpha trading environments through all phases of pre-production testing until release. This particular position is for our 3rd Shift, 11pm-8am.
Responsibilities:
Work closely with the Engineering, Product Management and Quality Assurance departments to implement and maintain API and FIX trading environments through all stages of pre-production testing.
Develop an understanding of the products traded and the functionality of the financial exchanges trading platforms.
Monitor network, server and applications to ensure high availability.
Manage and communicate daily progress against defined timelines.
Provide timely support for TT software and Windows Server OS.
Continuously analyze product features for improvements.
Help ensure accessibility and continuous operation of mission critical pre-production systems.
Train others, communicate ideas clearly, and use foresight to predict future needs.
Requirements:
1+ year of System Administration experience with Windows 2000 XP/2003.
Prior experience supporting Client Server applications (preferably from a Trading Environment).
Experience building mission critical servers.
Networking skills (TCP/IP).
Knowledge of scripting for administrative functions (Pearl, VBScript, Shell).
Exposure to Cisco networking hardware is a plus.
Knowledge of worldwide electronic futures exchanges is a plus.
Knowledge of the FIX Protocol is a plus.
SAN and NAS experience is a plus.
