About the Service Operations/Network Operations Analyst

We are looking for a self-motivated individual to join our Service Operations Center (SOC/NOC). We’d like to add an additional team member to our current team. This individual would provide Tier 2 support. This position includes 24x7x365 operational responsibility and requires flexibility in work schedule.

Responsibilities
Provide 2nd tier support for the InfoSpace production sites monitoring all systems, network, applications and environmental.
Document, track, and monitor a problem to ensure a timely resolution via an enterprise ticketing system.
Monitor incident details, including configuration items affected via enterprise ticketing system.
Monitor, troubleshoot and correct application, server and network problems. Monitor for alarm conditions and respond appropriately when fault is detected.

Follow escalation procedures and communicate issues clearly to technical and non-technical individuals.
Effectively troubleshoot TCP/IP, routing, and other networking related issues
Effectively troubleshoot Web server (UNIX and Windows platform) issues.
Incident and problem investigation and diagnosis (including resolution where possible).
Detection of possible problems and the notification of problem management.
Act as a restoration team member during major incidents.
Work with our system and software engineers to provide technical support.
Enforce system and network security procedures.
Effectively execute troubleshooting steps during an incident.
Communicate effectively with external partners.

Experience Required
2+ year’s system administration experience in a large-scale, heterogeneous data center environment (preferably Solaris, Linux, SuSe, NT/Windows2000/2003).

Intermediate skills in the following technologies: Operating systems including Microsoft Windows 2000/2003 Server, IIS. Networking technologies including Conceptual understanding of TCP/IP, Routers, Switches, Hubs, Firewalls, Domains, DNS, DHCP and Subnets.
End-user experience with enterprise network / system monitoring tools (Nimsoft preferred).
Strong communication and analytical skills, with the ability to resolve problems and explain solutions to others.
Must have very good written and oral communication skills.
Must have very strong customer service skills
Must have strong organizational skills with attention to detail.
Must be able to learn quickly and apply new knowledge correctly with little time or training.
Ability to work both as a member of a group and as an individual contributor.

Ability to work independently in a fast paced and changing environment is crucial
Ability to work flexible hours including other shifts and be able to respond in an on-call basis.
