Senior Software Engineer (Business Intelligence BI / Reporting)
We are a fast growing company developing and supporting a hosted software solution with a need for experienced, hands-on business intelligence and reporting engineering talent. The Business Intelligence BI / Reporting Engineer will play a critical role in enabling the delivery of business-critical information, reports and data for internal and external customers. In addition, this role will be a key player in our growing data warehousing capabilities as we continue to scale our product and service offerings.
Job Responsibilities:
Collaborate directly with business owners to define reporting, data analysis requests and technical specifications
Build, design and deploy web-based front-end reports and data analysis using Microsoft SQL Server 2008 Integration, Analysis and Reporting Services and Jasper
Responsible for developing and maintaining data source views, dimensions, hierarchies, cubes, interactive reports
Assist with ongoing data warehouse system design, development and operational support
Author and modify complex SQL queries for standard and ad-hoc reporting needs
Identify, construct and execute ETL tasks for continuous growth of data warehouse
Reviews, evaluates and recommends current and future reporting needs
Collaborate with product management and business stakeholders to refine and prioritize new requirements
Job Requirements:
5-7 years experience designing and deploying data warehousing and business intelligence platforms for enterprise reporting
Strong analytical background focusing on data mining, reporting writing, data visualization and analysis
Experience with Microsoft SQL Server 2008 Integration, Reporting and Analysis Services, MySQL 5.x
Experience writing complex SQL/T-SQL queries
HTML, CSS and JavaScript to design high-quality, polished user-facing reports
Experience developing and deploying reports for multiple business customers for internal and external consumption
Strong background in high-volume database-driven applications, data model specification and evolution
Entrepreneurial spirit and strong drive to innovate any aspect of the company
Experience with Agile methodologies/Scrum
Experience with SaaS systems a plus
Microsoft .NET 2.x, 3.x and Java coding experience a plus
BS in Computer Science or related field required
MS in Computer Science or related field desired
