Develop, maintain, and troubleshoot various information technologies security systems in a Linux, UNIX, Windows, Networking, Oracle, and SQL Server environment. Analyze Linux, UNIX and Windows log files through SPLUNK, configure information technology security software/hardware, and write and prepare security statistical reports.
Position Responsibilities:
Implements information security interfaces in complex computing systems, applications and network software/hardware
Evaluates Internet-wide security threats in relation to local systems Communicates potential information security exploits to IT Management
Participates in the evaluation of proposed systems and applications to determine information security or data integrity implications Develops and maintains enterprise-wide automated information technology security monitoring and reporting mechanisms
Develops and maintains various enterprise-wide information technology network security control systems such as firewalls, intrusion detection systems, wireless networks, virtual private networks, and network account access
Analyze log files, and report anomalies including potential breaches
Monitor network traffic activity enterprise-wide
Assist college technical staff enterprise-wide in troubleshooting and resolving network security issues
Performs related duties as assigned.
Requirements:
Any combination of education, training, and experience that provides the required knowledge and abilities:
Knowledge of various programming languages; server operating systems; networking principles, design and architecture. Information technologies system and network security software and hardware
Ability to analyze, diagnose, and correct problems related to information technologies security systems Research and assist in the design and implementation of information and network security solutions. Develop applications for information security reporting purposes
Troubleshoot enterprise-wide information technology system and network security issues
Communicate effectively orally and in writing, and establish cooperative working relationships with persons contacted in the course of performing assigned duties
