Luther Seminary seeks a permanent, full-time Network Systems Administrator to work in a team environment enabling the Seminary communitys shared mission through the effective and efficient use of information technology.
Principle Responsibilities
Install, troubleshoot, and maintain wired and wireless network infrastructure
Provide Windows server administration including system back-ups, patching, and maintenance to provide a robust, stable, and secure server environment
Administer various application servers such as SQL Server, IIS, document imaging, terminal services, and automated software distribution tools
Provide Windows desktop architecting and third level support for both the client operating system and software
Work in a team setting, which may include external partners, to help plan and execute projects and install upgrades to existing systems or build new systems
Document and track work within systems
Assist in the development of policies and procedures that affect the technology operation and use
Research methods or offer suggestions for improved system operation, efficiency, and capability
Work with end users to resolve problems
Use initiative to define service priorities
Inform the Director of IT of opportunities or issues
Required Skills
Exemplary customer service skills
Ability to work well and clearly communicate with faculty, staff, and students at various technology comfort levels
Minimum Qualifications
Bachelors Degree
Experience with increasing responsibility in the operation and administration of Windows servers, network infrastructure, and information technology systems
Preferred Qualifications
Experience with Linux
Experience with VOIP
