Luther Seminary seeks a permanent, full-time Network Systems Administrator to work in a team environment enabling the Seminary community’s shared mission through the effective and efficient use of information technology.

Principle Responsibilities

• Install, troubleshoot, and maintain wired and wireless network infrastructure

• Provide Windows server administration including system back-ups, patching, and maintenance to provide a robust, stable, and secure server environment

• Administer various application servers such as SQL Server, IIS, document imaging, terminal services, and automated software distribution tools

• Provide Windows desktop architecting and third level support for both the client operating system and software

• Work in a team setting, which may include external partners, to help plan and execute projects and install upgrades to existing systems or build new systems

• Document and track work within systems

• Assist in the development of policies and procedures that affect the technology operation and use

• Research methods or offer suggestions for improved system operation, efficiency, and capability

• Work with end users to resolve problems

• Use initiative to define service priorities

• Inform the Director of IT of opportunities or issues

Required Skills

• Exemplary customer service skills

• Ability to work well and clearly communicate with faculty, staff, and students at various technology comfort levels

Minimum Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree
• Experience with increasing responsibility in the operation and administration of Windows servers, network infrastructure, and information technology systems

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with Linux

• Experience with VOIP
