This an intermediate position in the IS department working under the guidance of the department manager and/or senior network systems administrator. This role involves managing and maintaining corporate networks and the services that run on them. The successful candidate will be responsible for network monitoring, break/fix troubleshooting, and periodic health checks. While primarily focused on network administration, the position may also include system administration tasks and projects.
In addition to strictly technical functions, successful candidate will be a strong team player. They will work to both increase their own knowledge in areas outside their primary responsibilities as well as offer assistance and guidance to others by functioning as a subject matter expert for key responsibility areas. Candidate should be detail oriented and project focused to efficiently and accurately guide and further project progress, as the need dictates. Finally, flexibility and ability to adapt will be crucial skills for the successful applicant.
Responsibilities:
* Maintenance will include network monitoring, break/fix troubleshooting, periodic health checks to LAN/WAN environment.
* ShoreTel VOIP administration and support
* Windows XP/7 operating system configuration, maintenance and automation
* Windows Server 2003 and 2008, and Active Directory services
* Escalation and support for Helpdesk
Required eExperience/Skills:
* Bachelors degree in Information Technology or equivalent experience
* Demonstrated experience with Cisco firewalls, routers, switches; Juniper routers; Bluecoat proxy servers. CCNA certification desirable.
* 3-5 years network administration experience, including familiarity with BGP, subnetting, VLAN’s, QoS
* Demonstrated understanding of T-1, ISDN, MPLS, Frame Relay circuit provisioning
* 3-5 years experience with Windows Server 2003/2008
* Internal wireless LAN (WiFi) administration
* Proven experience with security, software, and hardware standardization including development of documentation
* 3 years experience in Windows scripting (VBS, Powershell, etc )
* Experience implementing and supporting domestic remote, mobile, and international infrastructure
Other Requirements:
* Must be able to lift 20 – 50 lbs on a regular basis
* Must be able to bend, twist and squat on a regular basis
* Able to effectively manage multiple tasks simultaneously and respond quickly and professionally to changing priorities
* Effective written and verbal communication skills
* Must be able to travel to both domestic and international locations
* Able to provide both on-call and after-hours support
