Manager of Network Operations and Customer Service:
Position Description:
We are seeking a network engineer with light management and interpersonal skills.
Our company provides broadband fixed wireless at speeds of up to 40 mbps symmetric capable of servicing 90% of buildings in Santa Clara Santa Cruz and San Mateo Counties via a network of two data centers and 10 long range towers.

This position would work in 3 areas:
A. 35% Direct Customer Support.
B. 35% Network Maintenance.
C. 30% network planning and mentoring 2-3 part time junior technicians.
Activities include;
– Preparing Work Orders to upgrade all network elements to best practices, logically and physically, (We have four current staff who contribute to these designs and work orders).
– Assisting customers fixing their connectivity issues; such as assisting users in logging in and configuring their routers remotely.
– Supporting critical monitoring infrastructure such as routers and servers with applications such as solarwinds and mysql.
– Updating internal best practices and applications FAQs.
Skills sought:
1. Ability to work with public, articulate.
2. Cares about high quality internet service delivery to customers, and is capable of forming strong ties with customers.
3. Ability to assist customers and 3 part time co-workers in solving network connectivity issues.
4. Some background with Cisco IOS or very extensive linux networking background. Will need to become Cisco Certified if not all ready.
5. Some background with linux. Perl, sql, Xen, radius
6. Understanding of rf microwave and wireless networks.
7. Experience working on ISP and wireless technologies: dns, sendmail, ospf, bgp, vpn, ipsec, 802.11 802.11n, 802.16, 802.3, ip routing, switching, rf microwave engineering, PPPoE.
Salary guidelines:
Intermediate level skills, teachable, good work ethic: From 2,750 a month.
Intermediate to Advanced Skills: Starting from 3,500 to 5,000 a month
Advanced: Subject to negotiation.
Stock Options and Insurance 33/66. 1 to 2 days telecommuting possible if department in solid indicator territory.
