Allegiant Air – A growing and successful airline has an immediate opening for a Lead Systems Engineer at our Corporate office located in the SW area of Las Vegas, NV.
BASIC FUNCTION:
The Lead Systems Engineer will be primarily responsible for the WebSphere Portal environment and its supporting infrastructure. Responsibilities will include web application server configuration and maintenance, server security, SAN configuration and maintenance, system documentation and change management processes. This position will help develop and maintain standards and practices for this environment.
PRINCIPAL RESPONSIBILITIES AND ACTIVITIES:
Unix/Linux administration.
IBM WebSphere Portal configuration and administration
VMWare ESX Server configuration and administration.
Configuration and administration of Storage Area Network devices.
Email Server Administration (Lotus Domino, Postfix, Sendmail).
Work with developers, database administrators, system engineers, network engineers, and vendors to ensure application servers perform as required.
Systems management, design, and documentation.
Other duties as assigned
Able to read and write English
Must pass a ten (10) year background check and pre-employment drug screen.
Must have authorization to work in the U.S. as defined in the Immigrations Act of 1986.
SUPERVISES: Systems Engineers
INTERACTIONS: IT staff, user community, and vendors.
REQUIREMENTS & QUALIFICATIONS:
Education: College degree preferred but not required
Experience: 12 years experience in Information Technology, 10 or more years as a Systems Engineer
Knowledge: Unix/Linux System administration, IBM WebSphere Portal deployment and administration, VMWare administration, IBM MQ Series deployment and administration, Apache/Tomcat administration, Backup software and hardware, Storage Area Network administration, Systems management and design experience, System monitoring software (i.e. Nagios, Big Brother, etc.), Excellent communication and organization skills.
