This position is for a temporary engagement through our staffing partner WorkforceLogic. The anticipated duration of this engagement is 6 months. The duration of the assignment cannot exceed 12 months.
The Associate Network Operations Administrator is responsible for maintenance and operation of the Games Servers and networks that host the SCE PlayStation online titles.
Monitor Game Servers, Network and server hardware interactions and responds to alerts. Perform First level Games Server maintenance/problem determination
Excel skills required for the mining of data related to the Gaming environment. Custom reports for Production and Senior Management teams
Extensive use and understanding of UNIX scripts to perform start/stop and new deployments of game server sets and database configurations, user account creation, alias file maintenance
Understand the server-side dynamics of all Online Games titles and how they should function within the hardware and online systems
Intermediate Cisco networking skills required for deploying documented changes to equipment. This includes changes to port status, vlan membership, speed duplex settings and port counters
Participate actively with PD IT team members in addressing and completing correct courses of action by interpreting UNIX script monitoring and Oracle DB monitoring tools
Maintain and update Online Games server operations NOC documentation
Perform ticket system tracking, reporting and follow up on open tickets related to items monitored, followed through until completion
Perform first level troubleshooting for IT supported core services, to include DNS, SMTP, NIS, and networking. Acting as first level support for these services and as escalation for outages related to these services to the correct support group within IT
Act of single point of information exchange between groups on outages related to Online Gaming, Network Operations or infrastructure related issues
Coordinate the needed resources from the correct groups for problem resolution. To include event notifications and event escalations in support of such issues
Able to work with PD IT systems administration staff; advanced English language telephone skills for problem resolution; intermediate level English grammar skills for documentation maintenance
Must demonstrate assertive problem determination skills
Intermediate level Windows, Unix/Linux, and network operations skills; Intermediate MS Office and web browser skills; Intermediate level Internet knowledge; Intermediate PlayStation Online Games knowledge
Must be able to work on shifts to support a 24/7/365 network operation
