Network Administrator / Technician

Reeves & Associates (R&A) seeks a Network Administrator for its Pasadena Office.
R&A has been practicing immigration law exclusively for more than 30 years, has 60 plus employees in 4 offices and is one of the leading immigration law firms in the United States.

Qualified Candidates must posses the following skills:

Core Requirements:
• 2+ years experience with Microsoft Windows Server 2000/2003/2008 (including all aspects of Active Directory).

• 2+ years experience with Microsoft Exchange Server 2003/2007/2010

• 2+ years experience with CISCO systems including switches & routers, wireless, and network access control.

• 2+ years experience with Microsoft desktop operating systems in a network environment.

Areas of Responsibility:
• Maintain servers and other network devices.
• Maintain and monitor backup system.

• Create/update disaster recovery plan.

• Handle all network operation system changes, updates and maintenance.
• Maintain the connection to the Internet, routing, DNS, and IP configurations.
• Maintain computers used by staff, as well as printers and other peripherals, including installation of software updates.

• Train and serve as a technical resource for employees as needed.

Additional Skills A Plus:

• Symantec Backup Exec, Symantec System Recovery, All Microsoft Office and Adobe products.

• Familiar with CISCO IP Phone System and Call Manager
• Strong recordkeeping, documentation, communication, and organizational skills.

• Computer Science and 2+ years of relevant experience.




Overall, the position of Senior Unix Systems Administrator is expected to: 
Plan and coordinate work to support 24x7x365 IT infrastructure and online games by installing, configuring, and maintaining Unix/Linuxs servers
Design, install, configure, and maintain highly reliable 24x7x365 production servers for internal and Internet services, including (but not limited to) WWW, ftp, DNS, email, nntp, ntp, NIS, authentication, file sharing
Install, modify and support highly reliable 24x7x365 production systems, involves creating operating system and server configuration files in a configuration controlled manner, staging to a set of hosts and coordinating restart of applications; validating successful startup or debug/remedy failures; reporting results for online game applications
Monitor and debug application suites deployed on hundreds and thousands of hosts
Write intermediate-level scripts to automate and monitor systems health, performance, and security
Provide leadership, make recommendations, and collaborate with software developers, system and network administrators, and other support staff
Supervise the work of more junior team members, mentoring as needed
Monitor important technology innovations and work to incorporate technology that improves overall services delivered
Advise and recommend purchases of computers and computer related goods whenever appropriate
Provide technical support as needed to the SCE online game community on a wide range of issues concerning networking, hardware installation and support, and software installation and support
Travel occasionally as needed to support remote offices and server collocation facilities
At least 3 years of experience in Unix system administration
Strong experience with teamwork in Internet-related server operation groups; expert technical-level verbal and written communication skills in English
Ability to participate in process definition for change management and problem resolution to support large-scale 7×24 systems operations
Must have computer science knowledge adequate to understand and communicate complex system concepts to technical teams; senior level Unix/Linux systems administration and scripting knowledge; previous experience as a Unix administrator for 7×24 server-based systems; intermediate MS Office skills; intermediate level Internet and related networking expertise; and basic understanding of PlayStation games
Must be able to create and maintain project plans in collaboration with technical teams and management
Should have Internet background sufficient to understand operations, security, and network planning
One or more years of post-high school education or training
Bachelor’s degree preferred
